Happy New Year to you all, even though it is now late January!

To me, time is passing swiftly as preparations for the next Heart and Soul Expo, which will be held on the weekend of 8th and 9th May 2010 are already in full swing. The venue is the Vuni Palace Hotel Conference Centre, Kyrenia. You are invited to join this exciting event as an exhibitor, advertiser or visitor. I recommend you look at the website  www.heartandsoulexpo.com regularly to ensure you have all the information in plenty of time! You will also find information about other related events and workshops.

The Heart and Soul Expo is organised by a group of liked minded individuals who want to share knowledge of holistic self development, wellbeing, lifestyle, energy practices and natural products with a wider audience. The first event was successfully held at Chateau Lambousa Hotel over a weekend in May 2009. There were over 40 International Exhibitors, more than 30 free lectures and over 500 visitors attended.

The second Heart and Soul Expo on the weekend of 8th and 9th May is open to the public from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. Entrance fee is 10 TL per person per day and Students (with valid student card) 5TL, under 12 year olds free. Entrance fee also includes all lectures and the Expo magazine/programme. It is envisaged that this year’s Expo will be even bigger and better than before with more exhibitors and lecturers.

F is for Festival Days.
Festival days give time to meet together with family or friends. A time to reflect, meet together and pause from the daily activities of life. As the pace of life moves ever faster we need these special days even more.
As January rushes by winter is with us and February 1st brings the first Celtic Fire Festival Day of the year (pictured), seasonal feasts of pre-Christian calendar. Associated Goddess Brigid, who then became St Brigid of Kildare. It represents the celebration of the lengthening days and that Spring is on the way. This festival is now often celebrated as Candlemas on 2nd February and is related to the Purification of the Virgin Mary and presentation of Jesus to the Temple of Christian tradition. Candlemas means procession of candles.

There are 8 Festival Days during the year. Many people are familiar with the Equinox days of 21st June and 21st December and the Solstice days of 21st March and 21st September. There are also 4 Celtic Fire Festival Days 1st February named Imbolc, 1st May, named Beltane, 1st August Lugnasa, 1st November, named Samain.
